Each member of the management team should have a mandatory five years of teaching in the classroom on their resume. Seat time is what it is all about, one size fit all, then there is the parent declaring, my child can do no wrong. One parent told my son to get back in the classroom. Her child was more important than whether he lived or died from getting covid. That is a true story and actually the mentality of a few thinking they are privilege parents.
We need to educate the parents on what is expected from them as parents. What is the proper conduct in the classroom.
Why do children have to do four hours of homework at night? Why is a job of teaching children now a job that is a security risk? Why is there not a school that must be attended to learn English before entering a classroom. Every child should be taught to speak two languages before they reach 5th grade. Why are children with learning disabilities left behind? Religion has no place in the schools. Government has no place in the school. Why are sports made the most important part of any school? Why are we not teaching children about diversity is a good thing? Why are we not teaching our children to identify a bully and how to properly protect those who are bullied? We are losing the ability to educate our children due to interference of negative interference from government, religious organizations, privileged thinking parents who teach their children to feel privileged and teachers who have given up or just don’t care anymore. Teachers are not respected, underpaid, poorly supervised by uneducated upper management.
My grandchildren went to a grade school where the principal read stories to the children each day at lunch time. They had a safety room for children who had a need to feel safe and comfortable with a special education teacher to help them with why they needed to come to their room. They taught the children how to make something to sell, open a store, how to advertise, the lunch area to set up shop to sell once a month, how to manage their money and help them understand why their business was a success or the challenges of what happen and how to understand how to make the corrections. Failure was never a word; it was always how do I make a correction and improve the next time for a better success rate. This was an underfunded school with a think out of the box upper management. That should be the norm. Why isn’t it? Money for teachers and schools, support from parents, politics and religion out of the school, better education for upper management.
OK, let’s get busy and spend more money on going to the moon for the second time. To hell with our children.
